2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering on the platform, expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, or otherwise contacting us.
- Personal Data: Name, email address, password, and professional history (for resume generation).
- Credentials: If you connect your Gmail or Outlook account, we store necessary OAuth tokens to send emails on your behalf. These tokens are stored securely and encrypted.
- Usage Data: Information about your interactions with the platform.
Google API Scope Disclosure
Resume2Apply request access to the following Google API scopes to provide core platform functionality:

We use the information we collect or receive:
- To facilitate account creation and logon process.
- To provide the core services of the platform, such as resume generation and email scheduling.
- To manage user accounts and provide support.

4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in your own MongoDB instance if you are self-hosting, or in our secure cloud database if using the hosted version. We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information.
5. Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. We only share, transfer, or disclose your data in the following limited circumstances:
- To Provide Services: We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate our platform (e.g., hosting providers like Vercel or database providers like MongoDB Atlas). These parties are bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Google Limited Use Disclosure
Regarding data obtained through Google OAuth, Resume2Apply strictly adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- No Sharing/Transfer: We do not share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data to any third parties, except as strictly necessary to provide or improve the core features of our platform (e.g., sending emails via the Gmail API on your behalf), to comply with applicable laws, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
- No Advertising: We do not use or transfer Google user data for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based advertising.
- No Human Review: We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless we have your affirmative agreement for specific messages, it is necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating a bug or abuse), to comply with applicable laws, or for our internal operations and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized.
- No AI Model Training: We do **NOT** use Google user data to train, retrain, or fine-tune Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) models.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You can manage most of your data directly through the platform dashboard.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
